I went to Singapore Safety Driving Centre (SSDC) at Admiralty and the classes are the same as to any other driving school in Singapore just that it’s slightly more expensive as SSDC is the first multi story driving school in the world, and of course it took a lot of money to build this place. Why I enrolled at SSDC instead of BBDC or CDC? Because its the nearest and I heard that the slots are much easier to book than other driving centers.
I’ll be first to admit, I am a slow learner. I took 6 mock circuit tests and 3 TP tests. Reality is, the more tests you take the more you have to pay. The total cost for me is about 1.2k in 6 months for the entire process from enrolling at the center to obtaining that piece of plastic that show that I can legally ride on public roads aka a ‘License’. Those who are fast learners can definitely take 3-4 months spending roughly 900-1k so yeah, it is what it is.
My personal recommendation (NOT ADVICE) is to have 1.5k spare cash then you may start enrolling at SSDC for class 2B. It’s always good to have extra cha ching by the side. If you spend lesser than 1.5k then there you go extra cash for you, that’s your reward for passing quick.
- SSDC have shuttle bus
- Spent 1.2k for 6 months
- Failed like 7 times
- Drop bike at least 10 times
- Even got a mercy passed during circuit test
- What the driving school doesn’t teach you (gas, navigation, how to fall, law, job, parking, claiming insurance)
- The real test is outside the school
